Team TRPN (Three Rivers Provider Network) Receives WHEOF and Blaine Pollock’s Endorsement for Participation in The Challenged Athletes Triathlon
On Oct 24th 2010 in La Jolla, Ca
Through a dear friend, Meredith Franklin, we were fortunate to meet Melanie Benn, a Paralympics’ swimmer, social worker, and a supporter of the Challenged Athletes Foundation. Her courageous spirit and the numerous inspirational stories from Meredith made the Challenged Athletes Foundation’s annual triathlon a must see event. Two years ago we made it out to the Challenged Athletes Triathlon to cheer on team “Stuffed Olive” (a relay team spear headed by Meredith) and to see Melanie Benn in action.
With great inspiration and adoration WHEOF created a team to participate in their first Challenged Athlete Triathlon!
“Team TRPN” 2010 consisted of:
Jennifer Pollock Roberts (Project Manager WHEOF) who completed the 13.1 mile run up the testing San Diego coastline & Phoebe Porter-Bass (O’Connor Environmental- Scientist) who completed the 56 mile bike ride through the grueling hills of San Diego’s North County.
WHEOF showed their support for “Team TRPN” on Sunday, October 24th by cheering on our team participants. WHEOF looks forward to participating next year and in the years to come in support of CAF’s wonderful mission:
“It is the mission of the Challenged Athletes Foundation to provide opportunities and support to people with physical disabilities so they can pursue active lifestyles through physical fitness and competitive athletics. The Challenged Athlete Foundation believes that involvement in sports at any level increases self-esteem encourages independence and enhances quality of life.” –The Challenged Athlete Foundation’s Mission Statement
Your generosity and support is very important to us, thank you!
